The company saw an opportunity to work wonders into a brand new market with lower infrastructure costs and worldwide growth potential compared to the DVD mail business. Thus, the DVD business, which dominated the video rental industry in America, was thrown aside. These days, Netflix has become an award-winning content producer with a unique distribution network in every major market (except China). The stock has achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) since the Qwikster event, yielding a return of 2,240%.

It doesn't take several years of great returns to make a life-changing fortune. All that is really needed is usually a few decades of solid earnings.
