That's why the company put its name on the list of lenders entering the market for sustainable bonds. According to the Climate Bonds Initiative, the global green bond issue, which reached $ 270 billion at the end of 2020, could reach up to $ 450 billion this year. The company said that this money will be spent on new projects, as well as on current jobs. Recent Projects Amazon says Eletrobras' $ 1,3 billion pension gap in Brazil could affect finances. Because, besides electric vehicles, e-bikes and other electric alternative distribution vehicles need to be purchased for transportation fleets. Amazon also highlighted that there are sustainable building projects at its new headquarters in Virginia, powered by renewable energy, using an all-electric heating and cooling system.

The retail giant said it could also use these funds to make private equity investments in clean transport and zero-carbon buildings. Amazon has committed to powering all its operations with renewable energy by 2030 and increasing opportunities for under-represented groups in the workforce. Amazon, who was fined for bad health and safety practices in the first months of the epidemic, was highly criticized for issues such as illegally firing workers and pressuring their employees not to form unions. The company, which denied these allegations, said that it had the right to criticize the working conditions of the employees and that it supported them.
