Switzerland Started Trading Bitcoin
The Switzerland based subsidiary of the bank, owned by Gazprom, Russia's largest company and the world's largest natural gas producer, started trading Bitcoin.
The Swiss subsidiary of Gazprombank, which received an approval a month ago after two years of effort, started Bitcoin (BTC) trading. Making a statement on the subject, Roman Abdulin, CEO of Gazprombank Switzerland, said, “Digital Assets Will Become More and More Important On Behalf of Our Customers And Global Economy. We Are Pleased To Work With Leading Switzerland And Swiss-Based Organizations For The Further Development Of The Global Crypto And Blockchain Eco System”
At the end of last year, four leading crypto asset service providers in
Switzerland Bitcoin Suisse - Lykke - SEBA and Sygnum jointly decided to establish a Working Group to support the OpenVASP initiative with an open source platform.
Gazprombank Switzerland headquarters also announced that it has joined OpenVASP, which pays attention to legal compliance for BTC trading as well as virtual asset service providers.
CEO Abdulin said, the purpose of all these initiatives was to make crypto transactions as simple as trading with traditional assets.
Russia Restricts Bitcoin Trading
While Russian Banks continue their BTC initiatives on an international scale, the Russian government is placing restrictions on the crypto industry.
Country has requested to officially ban crypto payments in 2021 and imprisonment if $ 600,000 per year of crypto transactions are not reported.
