TAV Deputy Chairman Sani Şener; “We Expect 11 Million Tourists From Abroad”
TAV Deputy Chairman Sani Şener said, "When we look at the numbers, 11 million tourists are expected at our airports this year."
Noting at the Forum that they started an investment that will overcome the capacity problem at Antalya Airport, TAV Deputy Chairman Sani Şener stated that they expect 11 million tourist passengers this season.
Vekil Şener stated that they hedge their operating income against currency risks and said, “We have airports with dollar revenues in our company. We have airports with Euro revenues, and we also have TL revenues at these airports. We are not in the business of making money after the decline of the dollar, the change of the Euro/Dollar parity or the depreciation of the TL. Our company makes its income from the operation, so we hedged this income. That's why it doesn't affect us that much at the moment."
“The number of British and German tourists increased in Antalya”
Evaluating the reflections of the war between Russia and Ukraine on passenger traffic, Şener said that they expect 2.5 million Russian tourists this year and that they continue to invest in Antalya Airport.
Sani Şener said, “When we partner with large companies, we have the opportunity to obtain loans from within the country and abroad, we continue to invest at the same pace. There is no problem in this sense. As the market did not expect, British tourists increased a lot in Antalya, German tourists increased a lot. In other words, the diversification of tourists has been ensured. It is a great advantage for us that this diversification came just after the war.”
