Tekirdağ Exported To 146 Countries In The First Quarter

Tekirdağ exported to 146 countries in the first quarter. The export in question was recorded as 288 million dollars.

Going to become one of Turkey's new industrial centers and preparing a place for itself in international trade with its ports and production facilities, Tekirdağ increased its exports in the first quarter of the year despite the pandemic conditions. Tekirdağ, which has land, sea, rail and air transportation facilities, has an advantage with its proximity to Istanbul and Europe, ranks second after Bursa in Turkey with its 14 Organized Industrial Zones, realized sales of 288 million dollars to 146 countries in the first quarter of the year. Trakya Development Agency (TRAKYAKA) Secretary General Mahmut Şahin spoke to AA correspondent. Stating that Tekirdağ continues to be the "driving force" of exports in Thrace, Şahin said, "In the first three months of this year, 288 million dollars were exported from Tekirdağ. The increase in numbers is pleasing for our province despite the epidemic conditions."

Highest Monthly Exports in March

Stating that Tekirdağ made the highest monthly export in its history in March this year, Şahin said: “Exports from Tekirdağ amounted to 85 million dollars in January, 93.8 million in February and 109.1 million dollars in March with a record increase. When we look at the first 3 months of last year, we see that the exports were 254 million dollars. Among the most exported products of Tekirdağ, there are chemical materials and products, electrical electronics, ready-made clothing and apparel, textile and raw materials, machinery and accessories, iron and non-ferrous metals, automotive industry, air conditioning industry, furniture, paper and forestry products , cereals, pulses, oil seeds and products, cement, glass ceramic and soil products, steel, leather and leather products along with mining products.” Explaining that the countries to which Tekirdağ exports the most are generally developed western economies, Şahin said, "These countries are Germany, Italy, USA, Bulgaria, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, Uzbekistan, Netherlands, Romania, Iraq, Algeria, Russian Federation and If the epidemic environment and the world economy do not give us new surprises, we believe that new records will be broken in exports this year.
