Tesla has decided to delay the
production date of its Cybertruck vehicle until the first quarter of 2023.
According to the news that Reuters cites a source close to the subject, the production, which was expected to start later this year, was postponed after the decision to change some of the vehicle's features.
In December,
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, in one of his answers to questions asked about the vehicle on Twitter, stated that the first series of Cybertrucks will have four motors and will have different steering features for the front and rear wheels, which will allow the vehicle to move "like a crab".
At launch, the Cybertruck will have to compete with strong competitors such as Ford Motor Co.'s electric F-150 Lightning and General Motors Co.'s Silverado, which will launch in the spring.
When Elon Musk introduced the Cybertruck in November 2019, it caused a negative news storm on Twitter.
Tesla's design chief had thrown a metal ball at the windows of the vehicle to demonstrate the protective capabilities of the armored glass. However, things did not go as planned, and Musk, who blushed when the driver's side was shattered by the weathered windows, mocked the situation and commented, "Maybe we pushed a little too hard."
