Tesla's Record Success Doesn't Satisfy Investors
Tesla, the electric vehicle designer and manufacturer, broke a record in vehicle deliveries in the third quarter of 2022 despite ongoing production and supply chain problems, but the announced figure did not please its investors by remaining below forecasts as logistical problems caused problems in deliveries.
Electric car giant Tesla broke a record by delivering 343,830 vehicles worldwide in the 3rd quarter of 2022. Analysts' estimate was 358 thousand. In the same period a year ago, this figure was stated as 241 thousand 300.
"As our production volumes continue to increase, it has become quite challenging to ensure rational cost in vehicle transportation capacity," Tesla said in its statement.
Tesla's CEO
Elon Musk said in a statement on his official twitter,
"We want to facilitate the crazy last quarter delivery wave to reduce costs and reduce stress on the Tesla team. We are aiming for more stable deliveries in the quarter."
Tesla's figures come amid growing concerns that the deterioration in the global economy will also reduce consumer demand. These negative expectations caused a decline in the shares of many companies from Apple to Tesla last week. Tesla shares fell in Asian markets after the announcement.
