The Chip Crisis Also Hit Tesla
The chip crisis also hit Tesla. Tesla temporarily stopped production at its factory in China.
Tesla announced that the production line at the factory in China was interrupted for 4 days in August due to the problem in the supply of chips.
According to the news of Bloomberg, due to the problem experienced, disruptions occurred in Tesla's 'Model Y' production. Sources told Bloomberg that production is now back to normal.
Tesla's representatives in China, on the other hand, did not make any statement to Bloomberg on the subject.
The Chip Crisis Continues
In 2020, a chip crisis occurred in many sectors as the pandemic increased the demand for electronics and brought problems in the supply chain. The crisis, which affected production in the automotive sector, caused a great loss of income in the sector on a global scale.
Most recently, the world's largest automaker Toyota Motor announced that it will cut production by 40 percent in September by changing its production plans.
Tesla sold approximately 33,000 electric vehicles from China to the domestic and international markets in July. In China, the world's largest electric vehicle market, vehicle and SUV sales fell 6.4 percent compared to last year in July.
