The Ministry of Commerce reported that an inspector was appointed after some companies complained about an increase in egg
sales prices prior to
VAT discounts.
In the statement made by the Ministry, with the "Decision on Amending the Decision on the Determination of Value Added Tax Rates to be Applied to Goods and Services", which was published in the Official Gazette on 13 February, the distinction between wholesale and retail was removed and all food deliveries (
VAT at a discounted rate for products subject to SCT) It was reminded that the
VAT rate was reduced from 8 percent to 1 percent.
In the statement, it was pointed out that just before the mentioned regulation, the complaints that some companies made malicious actions in order to eliminate the positive effect of the
VAT discounts on the citizens by increasing the egg
sales prices were reflected to the public; "In this respect, inspectors of our ministry have been appointed to examine the claim in question before manufacturers, suppliers and retail businesses, to identify and punish any malicious practices, and to inform the public."
