The Number of Unemployed in Russia Has Reached 3 Million!
According to the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the number of unemployed in Russia reached 3 million.
Putin held the meeting in which Russia’s next three-year budget was discussed, with the participation of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and relevant ministers.
Giving information about the country’s economic situation, Putin also talked about the economic measures they have taken to combat the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
Stating that they made accurate decisions about alleviating the economic crisis caused by the epidemic, Putin said that some problems were also experienced in this process.
“The Decisions We Have Taken Made Perfect Hits”
Putin reminded that families with children are being helped, unemployment benefits are increased, tax payments are canceled, and additional orders are given to businesses in the main sectors. “The decisions we made have been a complete hit. But there have been some problems,” said the Russian leader, regarding the management of the process of fighting the economic crisis.
Saying that the global economy is frozen because of the pandemic, Putin said: “In many countries, many production facilities, construction sites stopped, their commercial volumes decreased. In some places, unemployment also increased to a critical level. If we look at Russia, GDP is 12 percent in April and 10.9 percent in May. The situation required us to take quick precautions. If we were objective, of course we could not solve all the problems. The depth of the crisis was very serious and the negative consequences were felt by the citizens. We can say today that these measures have yielded the opportunity to significantly reduce the severity of the crisis. Today, as we remove restrictions, economic mobility is gradually re-established in Russia. ”
Approximately 3 Million Unemployed Registered in Business Institutions “
Stating that the difficulties in the labor market developing with the effects of the pandemic continue, but the increase in unemployment in Russia is low compared to other countries, Putin said: “Many businesses and companies have returned to their normal working order. They cancel their flexible working arrangements, they recall the employees they sent for free leave. However, I would like to underline once again that the number of unemployed is still high. As of today, approximately 3 million unemployed registered in business institutions. ”
Stating that the three-year budget should reflect the spirit of constitutional arrangements, Putin said, “Our citizens have taken a decision regarding the constitution. We should consider their feelings in the three-year budget. The budget should reflect the spirit of the updated constitution and the wishes of the citizens.”
