The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (
ETKB) announced that the power cuts for the industry will end as of January 29. The interruption, which was announced as three days, was thus not extended, and there was time left for overtime planning as of the weekend.
Again, in the statement of the Ministry, it was stated that as of January 31, the gas withdrawal restriction will be reduced to 20 percent by 40 percent for the industrial consumers.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez said in a statement on Twitter, "We would like to thank the industrial consumers for their understanding and cooperation in this process."
The natural gas valve is partially open
In the meantime, noting that gas supply from Iran to Turkey has started in limited quantities for test purposes, BOTAŞ announced in a written statement that the 20 percent cut order to the industry will begin as of January 31st at 08:00. Regarding the Iranian gas blackout, which started on January 20, it was said, "The gas supply from Iran to our country has started in a limited amount for test purposes, and the 40 percent cut-rate applied by BOTAŞ to industrial consumers has been reduced to 20 percent as of 08:00 on January 31.01.2022."
Efficient production was detected in some HEPPs
It was emphasized that with the recent rains and the mild weather that followed, efficient production opportunities emerged in some
hydroelectric power plants, so the possibility of removing the restriction on electricity emerged.
In natural gas, it was emphasized that the test gas flow, which started from Iran, was positive and that if a serious problem does not appear in the coming days, Iranian gas may also come into play. It was emphasized that due to the softening of the weather, gas consumption in residences has decreased, and although the process is positive in terms of balancing, it cannot be said that "supply-demand balance has been established" yet.
