The situation in the US labor market is improving
According to the Fed, jobs grew at a steady pace between November and January.
New job creation in the US continues, but the labor market has still not recovered from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. This follows a report published on Friday by the US Federal Reserve (Fed).
The new people have been re-employed in restaurants, bars, hotels and other services in recent weeks, which faced a decline at the end of the year, the Fed said.
According to the
Fed, jobs were growing at a steady pace of about 90,000 a month between November and January.
The labor market is still very far from what can be described as "full employment", the Federal Reserve warns.
The current report will be one of the documents that Fed chief Jerome Powell will use next week in his speeches in the US Congress.
Since the beginning of the
pandemic, almost ten million jobs have been lost in the United States, which have not yet been restored.
