The United Kingdom Will Ban The Sale Of New Petrol And Diesel Cars By 2030
The United Kingdom will ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030. The local Prime Minister
Boris Johnson announced that the British will do so ten years earlier than the original commitment. Hybrid cars will be able to be sold until 2035.
As the Prime Minister further noted, the so-called Green Industrial Revolution could create up to 250,000 new jobs in energy, transport and technology.
The carmakers expressed concern about the British plan, as the previous target of 2040 was quite ambitious.
The
UK government's new plans include investing in hydrogen energy or carbon capture technologies.
The United Kingdom also wants to generate enough wind energy to power all the country's buildings by 2030.
The plans also include a new generation of nuclear power plants. Britain has also committed itself to reducing its carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
