The US stock market weakened, banks and industrial companies lost
Most US stock indices closed lower after a recent rise on Tuesday. Investors continue to monitor the bond market closely, and even a one-minute change in bond yields causes stock market fluctuations.
In addition, economic data showed that Americans cut spending last month and US industrial production fell sharply. Investors have been waiting for the US Federal Reserve to comment on the outlook for the economy and interest rates.
Losses in the shares of banks, industrial companies and companies dependent on consumer spending outweighed the profits of large technology companies and telecommunications companies.
The S&P 500 index weakened by 0.2 percent to 3,962.71 points. The
Dow Jones industrial index fell 0.4 percent to 32,825.95 points and the Russell 2000 smaller company index fell 1.7 percent to 2,319.52 points. However, the technology Nasdaq gained 0.1 percent and closed at 13,471.57 points.
Asian stock markets weakened on Wednesday as global markets cautiously awaited the US central bank's latest economic assessment.
Tokyo's main Nikkei 225 index fell by less than 0.1 percent to 29,914.33 points. The Hong Kong
Hang Seng index weakened by 0.1 percent and the Chinese Shanghai Composite also lost less than 0.1 percent.
