The world's largest container carrier A.P. Moller-Maersk achieved strong profit growth in the fourth quarter.
The Danish group was helped by a recovery in global demand for goods following a previous decline caused by the
coronavirus pandemic.
The company reported a net profit of $ 1.3 billion for October-December after losing $ 72 million in the same period a year ago. The group's revenue rose 16 percent to $ 11.3 billion in the final three months of last year.
Søren Skou, the
CEO, said its core business "performed at a record level due to a strong recovery in demand that led to full capacity utilization."
