TikTok and Microsoft Are Said to Cut Sales Negotiations
TikTok and
Microsoft are said to have cut their sales negotiations. It was mentioned that Microsoft would buy the company, which was previously asked to sell its US operations.
According to the information obtained, TikTok signed up with Microsoft Corp. to sell its music-video sharing app operations in the US. Which they ended. The Chinese company, started to meet with Oracle Corp.
Sources, which decided to stay anonymous as the information is not available to the public yet stated that the agreement between TikTok’s Beijing based parent company ByteDance Ltd. and Oracle will most likely be a restructure for the company rather than a sale.
After
US President Donald Trump announced that TikTok’s time would not be extended to sell to a US company, Microsoft also made a statement on the issue.
In the statement made by Microsoft, it was stated that ByteDance notified the company that TikTok would not sell US operations to Microsoft, and the following statements were used:
“While protecting national security interests, we were confident that our offer would be good for TikTok users. ''
US President Donald Trump announced on August 3 that they would ban the Chinese-based social media app TikTok on September 15, unless its US operation was sold to any American company.
Recently, Trump stated that the time given to TikTok will not be extended and noted the following:
"We will either close Tiktok in this country for security reasons, or this application will be sold to another US company."
