Total Deposits of Millionaires Exceeded 1 Trillion The total deposits of the millionaires exceeded 1 trillion. The number of depositors with 1 million lira or more in their account increased by 69,013 in 8 months. According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) data, the total number of millionaires residing in Turkey and abroad was recorded as 294 thousand 454 as of the end of August. The number of millionaires, which was 225 thousand 441 at the end of 2019, increased by 69 thousand 13 people in 8 months. The total deposits of the millionaires reached 1 trillion 850 billion 99 million lira at the end of August. In this way, the average deposit per millionaire was 6 million 283 thousand liras. The total deposits of the millionaires, which were at the level of 1 trillion 391 billion 599 million liras at the end of 2019, increased by 458 billion 500 million lira in the 8-month period.   The Number of Domestic Millionaires Increased The number of millionaires residing in the country increased by 60,582 in 8 months to 262,602. The total deposits of these people reached 1 trillion 729 billion 268 million TL. In the mentioned period, 763 billion 813 million lira of the deposits of domestic resident millionaires were in local currency, 914 billion 545 million lira in foreign currency deposit accounts, 50 billion 911 million lira in precious metal deposit accounts. The average deposit per millionaire resident in the country is calculated as 6 million 585 thousand TL.   The Number of Resident International Millionaires Increased The number of residents abroad increased to 31 thousand 852 as of the end of August. While the number of millionaires abroad increased by 8 thousand 431 people compared to the end of 2019, the amount of money in their accounts was recorded as 120 billion 831 million liras. Deposits of depositors residing abroad in banks consisted of TL 17 billion 734 million in local currency, TL 101 billion 775 million in foreign currency and TL 1.3 billion in precious metal deposit accounts. The average deposit per millionaire resident abroad was calculated as 3 million 794 thousand TL.
