Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin stated that they want to take the products sold on the platform to the customer's doorstep in Europe and the Middle East, and that they aim to establish warehouses abroad and buy companies for this purpose. The company is also planning an IPO.
Pointing out that important technology companies and state funds are investors in Trenyol, Çetin pointed out that exports have also become digital, and said, "There are thousands of sellers from every province on our platform. 75 percent of the goods we sell are produced in Turkey. Our target is to get these products that are made in Turkey and see them being sold in Berlin. We have this potential in Riyadh, Dubai, Europe, and the Middle East. We want to take the products sold by Trendyol to the 500 million European and Middle Eastern markets directly to the customer's door. For this purpose, we aim to establish sorting centers and warehouses at some locations abroad."
"We are considering investments of five billion dollars in the next five years, both in the country and abroad. We are also considering acquisitions of companies abroad for these operations. We will make some investments from scratch. Our investors also believe in us and are ready to support us with their capital," said Çetin. He emphasized that they will carry out their activities under the name of Trendyol brand. Çetin underlined that the name of the platform has its equivalent in Europe and the Middle East. Çetin stated that their strategic partner, Alibaba, also supports this strategy.
Noting that they have plans for a public offering, Çetin said, "When all technology companies reach a certain size, they go public. We want to see one third of our turnover in public offerings come from exports. We can reach our targets by 2024–2025 in terms of timing. Maybe we can reach those targets by 2023. As a Turkish company, we have bilateral relations with Istanbul and other markets. Whether the second place is London or New York, we will look at the situation on that day. New York is an important stock exchange for technology companies."
Arguing that their prices are below inflation, Çetin also stated that they have cut off relations with sellers selling counterfeit products.
