Turkey's Payment Method (TROY), which received an operating license from both the BRSA and the Central Bank in March 2016 by the Interbank Card Center (BKM), will now become a company. Announcing the
Economic Reform Package yesterday, President Erdogan said, "TROY will be a separate company." It was informed that the Central Bank has been working on the subject and that TROY will be positioned as a separate company this year.
There Are 10 Million Cards With the TROY Logo
According to the latest data, there are around 10 million cards with the TROY logo, a card payment system established and operated by BKM. Many countries in the world have their own payment systems. Turkey also launched the TROY brand in 2016 in order to be included in this list. In April 2020, the Central Bank became the dominant partner of BKM, which established the TROY brand in 1990 with the partnership of 13 public and private Turkish banks.
