Trump Administration Lifted Travel Restrictions For Some Countries
The Trump administration lifted travel restrictions for some countries. However, the decision was not approved by the
US President Joe Biden.
US President Donald Trump lifted the travel ban imposed on the Schengen region, Britain, Ireland and Brazil due to the coronavirus outbreak, effective January 26. But Joe Biden, the newly elected president of the United States, whose term starts tomorrow, did not approve of this decision.
In March 2020, the travel bans were imposed on foreign citizens traveling to the USA from European countries in the Schengen region, like the UK, Ireland and Brazil, were lifted on Donald Trump's last day in office. Donald Trump, who signed the circular prepared for the lifting of the ban, reminded that the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will request "negative" Covid-19 test results from all passengers traveling via international flights as of January 26.
Stating that this practice of the CDC is sufficient to ensure safety in terms of health, Trump noted that the bans on the mentioned countries will be lifted as of the specified date.
