Trump Was Acquitted In The Senate!
Former President Donald Trump was cleared in the Senate, where he was tried on charges of encouraging Congressional raid.
Former President Donald Trump was acquitted in the Senate vote. Trump was on trial at the Senate General Assembly due to the Congressional raid that took place in the USA on February 6, which caused many injuries and even deaths. Trump was cleared of the charges because the majority of the votes could not be achieved in the voting held on the 5th day of the trial.
In the voting held after the closing presentations at the Senate General Assembly, 57 senators voted against Trump, while 43 senators voted that Trump is not guilty.
Thus, Trump was acquitted of the impeachment charge entitled "inciting the people to revolt" due to the failure to achieve a majority of at least 2 out of 3 (67 senators) required to be convicted in the 100-seat Senate.
First Statement From Trump
Former US President Donald Trump made statements after he was acquitted. Trump said, “I look forward to continuing our remarkable journey together.”
Trump, who is known as the first president to be dismissed for the second time in the history of the USA, made a written statement after he was cleared in the impeachment trial in the Senate. Trump thanked his lawyers for defending justice and truth, and the Senators and members of the House of Representatives representing the constitution.
Trump also accused the Democians of "tainting" the rule of law and using "justice as a means of political revenge," saying that the second request for dismissal was the "biggest witch hunt" in the nation's history.
Joe Biden Reacted
US President Joe Biden stated that even if the former President Trump, who was tried for promoting the Congressional raid on January 6, was acquitted, the accusation in question would not be in dispute.
Speaking to the congress raid, Biden said, "This sad part of our history reminded us that democracy is fragile and must always be defended."
Speaking after Trump was found not guilty, Biden said he believed that opponents of the assault, including Senate Minority Leader Republican Mitch McConnell, were "shamefully abusing" Trump's post.
Underlining that the Senate's accusation of "encouraging the people to revolt" despite the fact that Trump was found not guilty,
Biden said that there is no place for violence and extremism in the USA:
“As Americans, and especially as leaders, each of us has a duty and responsibility to defend the truth and overcome lies. This is how we can end this civil war and heal the spirit of our nation. ''
