TUPRAS IS THE BIGGEST IN TURKEY
Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), conducted continuously since 1968, and constitute the most valuable data for the industry, "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises" announced the results of the 2019 survey. According to the survey list with a production-based sales value of nearly TL 87.95 billion ($14.48 billion) Tupras is the biggest enterprise in Turkey again. Ford came second with 37 billion 71 million liras, and Toyota third with 25 billion 851 million liras. Oyak-Renault, Star Refinery, Arçelik, Tofaş, İskenderun Demir and Çelik followed Toyota on the list. While the company in the ninth row did not want the name to be announced, Ereğli Demir and Çelik took the tenth step.
The exports of organizations in ISO 500 increased by 2.4%, while the share of high-tech density in added value rose to 6.9%. Employment increased by 1% and R&D spending increased by over 150%. However, while financing expenses remained determinant in profitability, the deterioration in resource structure continued and the share of total debts rose by 1.4 points.

ISO Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan “Since the last three years, the share of medium-high and high-tech industries in the created added-value has been increasing steadily. For the first time in 2019, the share of medium-high and high-tech in the created added-value has surpassed 30% and reached 30.4%. The increase is thought to be mainly due to the defense and aerospace industry sectors, which have seen a major breakthrough in recent years.”, said.
According to the survey which is qualified as the check-ups of Industry, Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises' sales increased by 16.4 percent in 2019.Compared to the 33.2 percent increase in 2017 and 34.5 percent in 2018, the increase in 2019 has attracted attention as the lowest increase in the last three years, and its growth performance has slowed.
