Turkey sold the most flake peppers to Germany in the first quarter. 660 thousand dollars of chili peppers were exported to the country.
According to the information obtained from the data of Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Union
(GAIB), 7 million 637 thousand dollars worth of chili peppers were exported from
Turkey to 107 countries last year.
While an input of 1 million 807 thousand dollars was provided in the January-March period of the previous year, exports to 78 countries increased by 27 percent in the same period of this year and 2 million 297 thousand dollars of foreign currency input was provided.
Most Sales Were Made to Germany
Sales of 891 tons of chili peppers to 78 countries including Germany, Netherlands, England, Iraq, USA, France, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Libya, Canada, Oman, Japan, Jordan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Malta and Kenya in the first quarter of the year. done.
Germany took the first place with a foreign currency input in chili pepper exports worth of 660 thousand dollars. This country was followed by the Netherlands with 330 thousand dollars and England with 260 thousand dollars.
Stating that they are pleased with the high export figures, the Chairman of Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly, İsa Kızıldemir, said:
"The countries that have reached the flavor of the red pepper, which we call 'sweetest bitter', cannot give up on this. It is pleasing that the export figures are high. I hope that these figures will increase even more by the end of the year."
