Turkey's 2019 regional
income distribution report was announced. Accordingly, the Istanbul region ranked first with 40 thousand 749 TL.
The results of the
Income and Living Conditions Survey 2019, which takes the previous calendar year 2018 as a reference, have been announced.
According to these results, the average annual equivalent household disposable per capital income in Turkey was 28 thousand 522 in 2019, with the highest level of the region as was in Istanbul with 40 thousand 749 TL.
Istanbul region was followed by the TR5 Western Anatolia region with 32 thousand 384 TL and the Aegean region with 30 thousand 337 TL.
The 2nd Level region with the highest annual average equivalent household disposable income was recorded as TR10 Istanbul region with 40 thousand 749 TL. The lowest was observed in Mardin, Batman, Şırnak and Siirt regions with 13 thousand 441 TL.
The P80 / P20 ratio is calculated as the ratio of the income of the 20 percent group with the highest income to the income of the 20 percent group with the lowest income. The smaller the ratio, the lower the income inequality.
Looking at the results of the research, it was seen that the 1st Level region was East Marmara with the lowest P80 / P20 ratio of 4.6. This region was followed by the Western Black Sea with 5.5, Central Anatolia and Middle East Anatolia with 5.6.
While the 1st Level region with the highest P80 / P20 ratio is 7.8, the Istanbul region is; The Istanbul region was followed by the Mediterranean with 6.7 and the West Marmara with 6.6.
According to research, P80 / P20 ratio, which was 7.4 in Turkey and lowest in the region of the Level 2 value; Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın with 4.2, Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli with 4.3 and Bursa, Eskişehir and Bilecik with 4.5.
The 2nd Level regions with the highest P80 / P20 ratio were Istanbul with 7.8, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır with 6.8, Adana, Mersin and Balıkesir and Çanakkale with 6.6.
Level 1 regions with the highest income-based relative poverty rate, according to the poverty line calculated on the basis of 50 percent of the equivalent household disposable individual median income for each region; Mediterranean with 13.3%, West Marmara with 12.9% and Northeastern Anatolia with 11.9%.
The Level regions with the lowest relative poverty rates were East Marmara with 8.4%, Central Anatolia with 9.9% and the Aegean with 10.5%.
Regions with the highest income-based relative poverty rate according to the poverty line calculated on the basis of 50 percent of the equivalent household disposable individual median income for each Level 2 region; Kastamonu, Çankırı, Sinop with 15.0%, Adana, Mersin with 14.0% and Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli with 13.3%.
The 2nd Level regions with the lowest relative poverty rates were Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli with 4.6%, Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Kilis with 5.8% and Bursa, Eskişehir, Bilecik with 8.0%.
