Turkey's Machinery Exports Reached 5.4 Billion
Turkey's machinery exports reached to 5.4 billion. In the first quarter, the country's machinery exports amounted to 5.4 billion dollars.
Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Chairman of the Machinery Exporters Association, stated in a written statement that the increase in machinery
exports was 15 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
Pointing out that Turkey's total machinery exports including free zones at the end of the first quarter was 5.4 billion dollars, Karavelioğlu said, "In the first quarter, Turkish machinery rained down on the EU. Despite the low levels of industrial production in many countries, European manufacturers bought Turkish machines at every opportunity they got."
Noting that European countries, which experienced a 14 percent decline in production due to coronavirus (Covid-19), did not slow down in purchasing machinery from Turkey, Karavelioğlu gave the information that Turkey's machinery exports to the EU increased to 22 percent.
Stating that machinery exports to the USA have also turned positive, Karavelioğlu emphasized that in this period when reclosure measures are being discussed worldwide, opportunities continue for competitive sectors that do not disrupt their production.
Stating that they put forward an extraordinary performance by making good use of the opportunities, Karavelioğlu explained that they wanted to turn this year into a "leap year".
