Turkey's Oil Imports Decreased

Turkey's oil imports have been decreased. Total oil imports decreased by 18.4 percent to 3 million 436 thousand 900 tons.

Turkey's Oil Imports Decreased Turkey's oil imports have been decreased. Total oil imports decreased by 18.4 percent to 3 million 436 thousand 900 tons. Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) published the "Petroleum Market Sector Report" for October. According to the report, Turkey's largest item of crude oil purchases in total oil imports decreased by 22.5 percent and was 2 million 328 thousand 557 tons. In the said period, the most crude oil imports were from Iraq with 929 thousand 798 tons, followed by Norway with 456 thousand 634 tons and Russia with 30 thousand 744 tons. In the same period, diesel imports declined by 10.5 percent and recorded 900 thousand 989 tons. The remainder of the imports consisted of aviation and marine fuels, fuel-oil types and other products. According to these data, Turkey's total oil imports decreased 18.4 percent in October compared to last year and was recorded as 3 million 436 thousand 900 tons. During the said period, the decline in crude oil imports brought along a decline in total imports. Gasoline sales increased by 5 percent in October compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 212 thousand 448 tons. Diesel sales increased by 2.5 percent and reached 2 million 411 thousand 680 tons. Total sales of petroleum products increased by 0.8 percent in October compared to the same month of the previous year and became 2 million 734 thousand 585 tons.   Exports of Oil Products Decreased Aviation fuels exports decreased by 66 percent in October compared to the same month last year and fell to 188,821 tons. Stopping flights, one of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, made the decline in aviation fuels exports inevitable. Marine fuels exports increased by 3.1 percent and reached 103.341 tons. During this period, exports of diesel types decreased by 15.7 percent to 254 thousand 706 tons, while exports of gasoline types decreased by 41 percent to 191 thousand 127 tons. Accordingly, together with other products in the oil market, total exports decreased by 33.9 percent to 911.348 tons.   Production of Petroleum Products Also Decreased The production of diesel types increased by 0.6 percent in October compared to the same month of the previous year and rose to 1 million 432 thousand 264 tons, while the production of gasoline types decreased by 8.8 percent to 420 thousand 594 tons. Aviation fuels production decreased by 73.1 percent to 150 thousand 92 tons, while marine fuels production decreased by 10.8 percent to 74 thousand 996 tons. Along with other types of fuel, total refinery petroleum products production decreased by 9.8 percent and fell to 2 million 923 thousand 909 tons.
