BioNTech, which has carried out many researches in the field of medicine for years, signed an agreement with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in September 2019 and received an investment of 55 million dollars on HIV and tuberculosis treatments. In 2020, the company agreed with Pfizer to develop a SARS-Cov-2 vaccine against the coronavirus outbreak. With the positive news about the developed vaccine, the company has tripled its value. If the success of the vaccine is proven, Japan signed a contract to receive 120, the USA 100 and the UK 30 million doses of vaccine. With the success of the company, Uğur Şahin and his scientist wife Özlem Türeci became one of the 100 richest people in Germany with their fortune of $ 3.9 billion. So much so that, according to The New York Times, the market value of the company is more than Prosche and Deutsche Bank. BioNTech plans to produce more than 100 million doses of vaccine by the end of the year using the mRNA method.
