TWO ZEROS WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE INDICES IN BORSA ISTANBUL
On Monday, July 27, two zeros will be dropped from the indices in Borsa Istanbul. Assessing the subject, Altınbaş University Faculty Member Professor. Dr. Emre Alkin stated that a very correct decision was made in terms of easy reading and tracking of the index.THE NUMBER OF HOUSEHOLDS IN BORSA İSTANBUL INDEXES IS HIGHER THAN THE OTHER STOCK EXCHANGES
Stating that the process to be completed on Monday, July 27, it would be better to define the transaction as "households from index" rather than "zero throw". Dr. Emre Alkin stated that the number of households in Borsa İstanbul indexes is higher than the other stock exchanges of the world and said:INDEX WILL ALSO PROVIDE ADVANTAGES IN TERMS OF RAPID COMMUNICATION WITH FOREIGN INVESTORS
“When we look at the stock markets in the USA, we see that the indices are just at the top of the 5 digit numbers. Even in Nasdaq, a technological over-the-counter market where shares move very quickly, there are 5 households. DAX Index in Germany is at the top of 5-digit numbers like America. In France and Spain, the indices are at the level of 4 digits. When we look at Asia, we see that Nikkei in Japan, Hang Seng in Hong Kong and Kospi in South Korea are also 4 digits. Considering these, 6 households in Borsa Istanbul were creating follow-up difficulties and confusion for investors. Six households were having trouble fitting into display cells. ”
Stating that it is difficult to transfer the six-digit index to foreign investors quickly. Dr. Emre Alkin said:
“It is not easy to answer a foreigner who is curious about the level of Borsa Istanbul index in English or French. For this you have to make a long sentence. Taking households out of the index will also provide advantages in terms of rapid communication with foreign investors. ”
