U.S. oil rigs increased 4pc this week. According to weekly statistics released by oilfield service company Baker Hughes, the number of oil rigs in the United States rose to 682 this week, a 4pc increase from the previous week. Closing Thursday Friday at $ 49.99 a barrel, the price of Brent oil finished Friday at $ 45.54. The price of West Texas (WTI) - type crude closed the day at $ 41.61 a barrel.
