The shares of Germany-based BioNTech company have gained over 250 percent this year. The rise in the value of BionTech shares traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange in the USA has made Prof.Dr. Uğur Şahin one of the richest 500 people in the world with his $ 5.1 billion fortune.
Company's Market Value Increased
BioNTech stock price, which was $ 38.5 at the beginning of the year, stands at $ 120 today. The market value of the company is now around $ 28.9 billion.
According to data on the Bloomberg billionaires index, Uğur Şahin, who holds an 18.8 percent stake in BioNTech and is also the CEO of the company, has increased his wealth by $ 3.7 billion and to $ 5.12 billion since the beginning of the year. Thus, Şahin, became one of the 500 richest people in the world, also became the only Turk on the list.
