Unemployment Application in the USA Exceeds 40 Million!

The number of applicants for the first time in the United States of America (USA) reached 40 million 746 thousand. This number, which was reached with the effect of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, occurred in the last 10 weeks. The U.S. Department of Labor published data on weekly unemployment benefits. In the light of these data, the number of citizens applying for unemployment benefits for the first time in the USA has decreased. In the week ending May 23, the number of applications decreased by 323 thousand people compared to the previous week, was 2 million 123 thousand. The market expectation for the data that decreased compared to the previous weeks was that the number was 2 million 100 thousand. The data of the week for the number of people who demand unemployment benefits were revised from 2 million 438 thousand to 2 million 446 thousand. As a result, the number of citizens applying for unemployment benefits for the first time in the USA has become 40 million 746 thousand in 10 weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak. As of last week, the number of applications for four-week unemployment benefits has decreased by 436 thousand compared to the previous week and has reached 2 million 608 thousand.
