US Indices Completed the Week with Mixed
In the United States, indices followed a volatile course on the closing day of the week on markets, completed the week's closing.
On the last trading day of the week,
Dow Jones index values fell 0.1 percent to 24.465.16 points.
S&P 500 index, on the other hand,
increased by 0.2 percent and reached
2,955.45 points.
Nasdaq index was also the index that increased on the last trading day of the week. The Nasdaq index closed the week with an increase of 0.4 percent with 9,324.59 points.
The events that show the effect of the mixed trend in the
stock market were listed as the events and situations for the development of the increasingly growing tension between the
United States and the
Chinese countries, and the development of the coronavirus epidemic, which followed an optimistic situation all over the world.
Along with the optimistic events in the vaccine studies dealing with the coronavirus outbreak and the studies started to normalize the economic activity, the Dow Jones index has experienced the highest weekly performance in the period from April to today with a 3.3 percent increase.
The weekly increase of the
S&P 500 index was recorded as 2.9 percent, while the value gain of the
Nasdaq index was determined to be 3.2 percent.
