US Indices Started The Day With A Decline
US indices started the day with a decline. While negotiations on the financial support package continued, the indices decreased.
At the beginning of the day, the Dow Jones index lost value over 100 points and was traded at 31,283.36 points with a decrease of 0.33 percent. The S&P 500 index started trading at 3,905.49 points with a decrease of 0.26 percent, while the Nasdaq index started trading at 13,968.34 points, decreasing 0.14 percent.
US indices, which closed the first trading day of the week reaching all-time highs, turned their direction down at the opening today.
While the developments regarding the
economic support package planned to be given as part of the fight against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic in the USA maintained its decisive role on the markets, the Democrats in the House of Representatives shared some details about the package yesterday.
The aforementioned support package included extending the weekly unemployment insurance payments of $ 400 until August 29 and giving direct cash assistance of $ 1,400 to those with an annual income of less than $ 75,000.

US President Joe Biden, US Vice President Kamala Harris and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen are expected to meet with business people on the package.
