US Stock Indexes Rose Sharply On Tuesday As Investors Relied On Biden's Victory
Key US stock indexes rose sharply on Tuesday as investors relied on Democratic candidate Joe Biden's victory in Tuesday's presidential election and with him a quick agreement on further fiscal stimulus. The New York Stock Exchange's Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 553.70 points (2.06 percent) to 27,478.75 points by 4 pm CET. The S&P 500 index reached 3,367.91 points, an increase of 57.67 points (1.74 percent). The Nasdaq Composite Technology Index rose 171.87 points (1.57 percent) to 11,129.49 points. However, the situation is not clear. Biden's opponent is current US President Donald Trump, and although polls favor the Democratic candidate, Trump may again surprise.
