US Trade Deficit Reaches Highest Level
The
US trade deficit reaches its highest level. The country's goods trade deficit increased by 5.5 percent monthly in November. With this increase, highest level has been reached since 1955.
The
US Department of Commerce shared data on the merchandise trade balance, wholesale and retail stocks for November.
According to these data, the goods trade deficit, which is described as the leading foreign trade deficit, increased by 5.5 percent in November compared to the previous month and reached 84.8 billion dollars. With this value, the highest trade deficit level has been reached since 1955.
During this period, exports of goods increased by 0.9 percent and reached 127.2 billion dollars. However, imports of goods increased by 2.6 percent to 212 billion dollars. The trade deficit in goods stood at $ 80.4 billion in October.
On the other hand, while wholesale stocks decreased by 0.1 percent monthly in November, retail stocks increased by 0.7 percent.
