US Unemployment Claims Continue to Decline
In the US, unemployment claims continue to decline. Unemployment claims in the country declined to their lowest level since the outbreak began.
Weekly
unemployment pension claims continued to decline last week. According to the data released by the Department of Labor, applications dropped by 92 thousand and decreased to 498 thousand in the week ending May 1.
The median estimate of the economists who participated in the Bloomberg survey was recorded as 538 thousand. The biggest dips were in New York and Virginia. Ongoing applications rose to 3.7 million.
In addition, the data of the previous week was revised upwards and recorded as 590 thousand.
The employment market in the US began to strengthen, as employers began to fill vacancies due to the coronavirus epidemic. The non-agricultural employment data to be announced tomorrow in the country is estimated to increase by approximately 1 million.
