USD/TL broke its record for 2022

Falling risk perception in global markets pushed the USD/TL exchange rate to its highest level in 2022.

The global strengthening in the dollar pushed the USD/TL exchange rate to the highest level of this year. The USD/TL exchange rate tested above 17.57 and jumped to the highest level of 2022. The USD/TL exchange rate has risen more than 30 percent since the beginning of the year. Turkey's risk premium is trading at 859 basis points, while the benchmark bond interest rate is recorded at 23.15 percent. While the announcement that technology giant Apple plans to slow down its hiring and spending is reflected as a global sales pressure on technology stocks; The decrease in risk appetite caused the dollar to end its two-day decline. The dollar, which has fallen in the last two trading days as inflation expectations in the United States fell above forecasts, gained value this morning. Euro/Dollar parity maintained its course above 1.01.
