USD/TL Decreased After Breaking A New Record

USD/TL decreased after breaking a new record. The US dollar, which climbed to the level of 8.48 in the opening, fell rapidly to the level of 8.31.

While the US dollar fell against the currencies of many developing countries on the first trading day of the week, it broke a new record by rising to 8.48 against the TL rate. After this level, the USD/TL exchange rate decreased rapidly to the level of 8.31. Starting the day with the level of 8.38, the USD/TL rate found a balance at the level of 8.31 with a decline of 0.92 percent after seeing above the 8.48 level in the first transactions. In the Euro/TL exchange rate, the all-time high level was seen during the day with 10,2756. The US dollar has fallen on the back of speculation that US Federal Reserve (FED) Chairman Jerome Powell will not talk about reducing bond purchases at this week's monetary policy meeting. Turkey's risk premium was traded at 429 basis points, while the benchmark bond rate hovered around 18.06 percent.

The Inflation Report to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on Thursday draws attention on the agenda of this week in domestic markets. The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Şahap Kavcıoğlu will make the presentation of the Inflation Report on Thursday, April 29 at 10:30 am, within the scope of the measures taken due to the coronavirus pandemic.
