The vaccine statement came from US President Donald Trump. Trump stated that the vaccine to be used to fight the coronavirus epidemic can be sufficient for the entire population until April.
US President Donald Trump said that they will not enter a second quarantine, stating that they will have enough vaccines for the entire population until April in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
Speaking at the press conference held in the White House, Trump made statements regarding the "Warp Speed Operation" launched for coronavirus vaccine studies.
Pointing out that they announced the biggest mobilization in the history of the country against the coronavirus epidemic in the last 9 months, Trump said, "We are leading the treatment and vaccine development in record time. Nothing has happened so quickly in our history."
Trump continued to describe the coronavirus epidemic as the "Chinese Virus", stating that the vaccine developed by Pfizer was more than 90 percent effective, and that other similar vaccines will be announced soon.
"It Was Unfortunate that Pfizer Said a Part of Warp Speed"
Stating that in July they reached an agreement with Pfizer for the development and distribution of 100 million doses in the first place and then 600 million doses worth of 1.95 billion dollars, Trump said, "In this way,
Pfizer's vaccine would be free. It was unfortunate thatPfizer said a part of Warp Speed. We will soon approve this vaccine and will continue to use it soon. When the vaccine is approved, our management will organize the distribution of the vaccine.”
Trump, stating that the vaccine will be distributed first to emergency workers, the elderly and high-risk groups, "We can make this first stage distribution within weeks. We now know that the virus affects elderly people more. We will reduce hospitalization and mortality rates by applying the vaccine to risk groups. Number of cases are high in the country, that's because we test more than anyone else.”
Stating that they are aiming to have millions of doses of vaccine in a short time, Trump said, "Vaccines are waiting for the final approvals. We will have enough vaccines for the entire population until April."
Spoke About the Governor of New York
Trump did not ignore New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who stated that he did not trust the developed vaccine. Trump said, "Unfortunately we will not be able to distribute vaccines to this state until the Governor of New York gives us permission to distribute the vaccine. I know many people want the vaccine, but the Governor does not."
Stating that the quarantine harmed the country's economy,
Trump said:
"We can protect the vulnerable population while healthy Americans return to their jobs, and children to school. We will not impose a second quarantine. We do not know what will happen in the future regarding the administration (elections), time will tell. But my administration will not apply a second quarantine. We cannot let the treatment to get worse than the problem." "
