This week, while the stock market earned on a weekly basis, gold and foreign currencies lost. Stocks traded in Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 1.42 percent on a weekly basis, while the gram sales price of gold fell 3.06 percent, USD/TL exchange rate decreased by 1.02 percent, and Euro/TL rate lost 0.80 percent. This week, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul saw the lowest 1.522.08 and the highest 1.575.70 points. After these levels, the BIST 100 index increased by 1.42 percent compared to the previous week's closing and closed the week with 1.560.34 points. The selling price per gram of 24-carat gold bullion, traded in the Grand Bazaar this week, lost 3.06 percent to 398.80 liras, and the selling price of Republican gold fell by 3.04 percent to 2.648.00 liras. The sales price of the quarter gold, which was 667.00 lira last week, decreased to 647.00 lira. The US dollar, which lost 1.02 percent this week, fell to 6.9610 liras, while the Euro fell by 0.80 percent to 8.4340 TL. Mutual funds lost 0.46 percent of value this week, while private pension funds fell 1.29 percent. Based on their categories, money market funds earned the most among mutual funds with 0.30 percent.
