What happened in Borsa Istanbul today?

The BIST 100 index traded in Borsa Istanbul moved between 3,877 - 3,942 points today (20.10.2022). Towards the closing, the index was found at the level of 3,920 points.

BIST 100, which started Thursday with a buyer, continued its rise until the time the central bank announced the interest rate decision and rose up to 3,942 points. The index, which moved slightly sellers after the peak of the day, provided support at 3,910 as it approached the closing. While BIST 100 continued with a value increase of close to 1% in the last hour, factoring, information technologies, mineral products were the most demanded sectors with a value increase of more than 3% today. Retail trade, insurance and metal products and machinery were the indices that went negative towards the close. Banks, on the other hand, were at 4,040 points, rising above the average with a value increase of close to 2%. Holding and SME indices were up 1%, while the construction sector was preparing to close with a value increase of more than 2.5%. GESAN, SMRTG and ISGYO were announced as the top gainers in the BIST 100 index today. When we look at Borsa Istanbul in general, MRSHL, CRFSA, KMPUR, CMBTN and PENTA took their place at the forefront as the shares that reached the ceiling price today.
