According to the definition made by the Capital Markets Board (CMB), VIOP markets are; It is the short name of the markets where futures and options contracts and other derivative instruments on the capital market instruments traded in Borsa Istanbul are electronically traded. Futures Contracts; Contracts that are traded on the Futures and Options Exchange (VIOP), an organized stock exchange, giving the obligation to buy and sell economic or financial indicators, capital market instruments, goods, precious metals and foreign currency at a predetermined price, amount and quality at one maturity. In general, their regulation is based on goods (agricultural products, energy products, metals), stocks, stock indices, interest rates or foreign currency. Option Contracts; giving the option buyer the right to buy and sell an economic or financial indicator, capital market instrument, commodity, precious metal or foreign currency at a predetermined price, amount and quality, in return for a certain maturity or up to a certain maturity, by paying the option premium; Contracts that oblige the seller. BIST-30, USD(Dollar), Euro, EUR/USD cross rate, gold, Dollar/gold, energy, wheat, cotton, stock futures contracts and options are traded on VIOP. VIOP, where domestic and foreign investors can invest in derivative products; As a leveraged market, it is among the popular derivatives markets. Futures and Options Markets as a market where derivative instruments, which are advanced financial products, are traded; Recently, it has become one of the popular markets of institutional and individual investors and has recorded a significant increase in its transaction volume. The integration of world markets is growing rapidly and great moves are being made to become an international financial supermarket. When the periods in which futures transactions increase worldwide are examined; Major events such as the Mortgage Crisis, which emerged in the USA in 2008 and affected the whole world, draw attention. In this period, the collapse of the stock market and the characteristics of futures and the effects they could create were seen. If a few more crisis periods like this are examined, the importance of VIOP will be better understood.

How to Trade in VIOP?

First of all, you should open an account in a brokerage house or bank with a VIOP membership. In VIOP, orders are transmitted and matched via an electronic system. Orders are transmitted to the exchange by the members via a remote access connection. In addition, investors have the opportunity to send their orders via member websites, data broadcast screens or mobile applications.

You must sign the risk statement form.

The risk notification form determined by the Capital Markets Board must be signed by all real and legal persons who want to trade in VIOP through a stock exchange member.
