Defense Industry President İsmail Demir made statements regarding WhatsApp, which has been criticized with its latest update.
Stating that WhatsApp's new confidentiality agreement is a national security issue, Demir stated that they care about the widespread use of the Messenger system. Demir said, “This issue is a national security problem. We should work with institutions. We care about the widespread use of the messenger system.”
Following the update of WhatsApp, a statement was made by Ali Taha Koç, President of the Presidential Digital Transformation Office.

Competition Board, on the other hand, stopped WhatsApp's obligation to share data with Facebook with the investigation it officially initiated.

Demir stated that they do not see any risk unless additional decisions are taken regarding the US CAATSA sanctions. Demir said, "If we wanted to, the second system in the S-400 would come today, we care about joint production and technology transfer. S-400s are ready to use and can be used if needed.
