In just a few weeks, the U.S. stock market and the global crypto market have experienced massive sell-offs as investors fear slowing growth, a new variant of COVID-19, inflation, valuation. But even those who are fully invested are wondering which would be better to invest in crypto or stocks in 2022 and beyond. It is useful to examine them together.

A good time to buy "blue chip" cryptos like Bitcoin

It is important to remember that fear of missing out (FOMO) is a dangerous emotion that forces our judgment to cloud. Just like stocks, investing in cryptocurrency has risks. Bitcoin is complex, risky, and although it has long been accused of being a bubble, as it is known, it has never been hacked and is arguably one of the safest, most liquid and most tradable stores of value on the planet. In short, the leading cryptocurrency has features that make it an ideal currency in countries without stable payment methods. It is a ship of wealth for people in countries with developed economies. Few investment opportunities provide a reasonable long-term return of 1,000%. Bitcoin is one of them.

The 10 stocks of the S&P 500 increased by 50% on average. Also, as a Group, Apple  AAPL (NASDAQ) $171,18 +5,86 (+%3,54), Microsoft MSFT (NASDAQ) $334,92 +8,73 (+%2,68) Alphabet, Amazon, Tesla, Meta Platforms and Nvidia crushed the market. Collectively, they make up more than 60% of the Nasdaq 100 index.

Combining security, value and growth

To answer the general question of whether it is better to take advantage of the crypto crash or the stock market sell-off, it is actually argued that the crypto crash is the better buy. Bitcoin and Ethereum seem to be leading with a lot of growth despite falling a lot from their highs.
