Will Apple Build Its Electric Car In Partnership With Renault?

  Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) Car project continues to warm the market, even though it does not have direct impact on Apple's stocks. The company has been working on a fully autonomous electric car for some time, but so far it doesn't seem to have found the right partnership with any automaker.  

Apple-Hyundai Deal at a Standstill

Until a few days ago, the deal with Hyundai Motor Company Ltd (OTC: HYMTF) looked like it was over. In January, the South Korean company was ready to put the Kia plant in West Point (Georgia) to Apple's use after successful initial negotiations. But a few days ago this process came to a serious halt, apparently due to internal disputes at Hyundai.  

Speculations on Renault

We are not exaggerating when we say Apple has many options. With the Hyundai-Kia alternative disappearing, the possibility of a possible partnership with Renault ADR (OTC: RNLSY) seems to be possible with the French automaker becoming an ally of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (OTC: NSANY) and other major Asian automakers like Mitsubishi. Apple's goal will be to make a deal with an Asian company that could possibly get involved in the (potential) electric car market on the continent.  

Renault Stocks Are On The Rise

Following the rumors of a possible deal with Renault, the automaker that produces one of the world's best-selling electric car, the Zoe, the French automaker's stocks rose again yesterday. The emergence of these reports has caused Renault to surpass $ 40. However, it has dropped by 2 percent today, perhaps to disapprove the news by the parties or just to make some profit.   Hyundai executives said, "We are receiving several cooperation requests from various companies in the joint development of autonomous electric vehicles, but these are at an early stage and nothing has been agreed,"and expressed their rejection of the deal with Apple.
