Xiaomi surpassed Apple in smartphone production. Xiaomi has become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.

According to data from research company Canalys, Chinese technology company Xiaomi has become the second largest manufacturer, surpassing Apple in the global market. Xiaomi's sales increased by 83 percent in the second quarter of 2021, and the company's market share increased to 17 percent. While Samsung, the leader of the smartphone industry, did not lose its place in the first place with its 19 percent market share, Apple, which dropped one place, took the third place with 14 percent. Xiaomi increased its sales by 300 percent in Latin America, 150 percent in Africa, and 50 percent in Western Europe during the aforementioned period. Canalys representative Ben Stanton stated that Xiaomi's price is between 40 and 75 percent more affordable compared to Samsung or Apple and that the company's expansion abroad has increased its sales.
