Year-End Dollar Forecast Was 6.93 In Central Bank Survey
The results of the expectations survey conducted by the Central Bank of the Republic of turkey with representatives of the real sector and the financial sector each month were announced.
The year-end CPI expectation was announced in April at 9.76%. This rate was expected to be 9.98% in March.
The March April interest rate forecast for the current month-end overnight interest rate in the BIST Repo and the reverse-Repo market was 10.38% and was announced as 9.13% in April.
The April March forecast for the year-end dollar rate was 6.51, down from 6.93 in April.
In March April, GDP growth was estimated at 3.3%, while in April it was -0.6%.
EXPECTATIONS AFTER 12 MONTHS
After 12 months, the CPI expectation was 9.51 percent at the time of the last survey, compared to 9.70 percent at the time. After 24 months, the CPI expectation was 8.51 percent and 8.62 percent, respectively, during the same survey periods.
Exchange rate expectations after 12 months were estimated at TL 6.66 and TL 7.11 in the same survey periods.
The growth forecast for 2021 was estimated at 3.9 percent and 4.6 percent during the same survey periods.
