US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen met with environmental organizations. Yellen held a meeting with environmentalist organizations to discuss ways to benefit from the corporate tax system within the scope of combating climate change.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Treasury, it was stated that
Yellen and Deputy Minister Wally Adeyemo had negotiated with environmental organizations about corporate tax reform. During the meeting, it was noted that the ways to benefit from the corporate tax system within the scope of combating climate change were discussed, and it was noted that Yellen drew attention to the importance of using all the tools at their disposal, including tax law, in line with the net zero emission target.
In the statement in question, it was stated that Yellen stated that with the new tax plan, the subsidies dating back to the early 1900s were removed and the view of the fossil burning industry started to be adapted to the present day by supporting the transition to technologies of this century.
