Yuga Labs Announced The Acquisition Of CryptoPunks And Meebits

Yuga Labs, creators of the popular NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club, announced acquisition of the rights to CryptoPunks and Meebits.

Yuga Labs, the company behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, has acquired the CryptoPunks and Meebits NFT collections. The announcement was made on Yuga Labs' official Twitter account. Yuga Labs said the following in a statement on the subject: “By transferring these rights, we are further aligning CryptoPunks and Meebits with their web3 values. We expect a wide range of third-party developers and community creators to incorporate CryptoPunks and Meebits into their web3 projects. Alongside them, we will build an overall brand.” Yuga Labs also stated the following on its Twitter account: "We now own the trademarks, copyrights to the art, and other IP rights for both collections, along with 423 CryptoPunks and 1711 Meebits." In addition, Yuga Labs emphasized that it plans to give the commercial rights of all CryptoPunk and Meebit images to their respective owners.
