President of
Ukraine Zelensky said in the video he published on his social media account, "I am here. This is our land, our country, our children. We will protect it. We will not lay down our arms."
Zelensky also called on Europe and said, "This is a vital time to decide on
Ukraine's EU membership.”
"Kiev is under our control. We are ready to give weapons to anyone who will
support us," Zelensky said in front of the cameras at noon.
Referring to the Ukrainian soldier who exploded the bridge with him to prevent Russian soldiers from entering Kiev, Zelensky said, "I declare him a hero for our citizens and for our soldiers. He blew up the bridge by himself so that the enemy would not enter."
"The Russian people should oppose the war"
Then Zelensky continued his speech in Russian. He said, "Now I want them to hear me in Russia. I'm switching to Russian. We have thousands and hundreds of prisoners, and they all do not understand why they were sent to
Ukraine. They do not understand why it is necessary to kill others. Citizens of Russia, please oppose the war. We see your protests and resistance. We want to say that you are making the very right move, and we thank you. Please stop those who lie. Stop those who lie to the whole world. Because we can end this war. We can live in peace. We can live without war in the global world. Our soldiers, those who fight at the border, our citizens, please stand up. We all will win. Long live
Ukraine."
